Here's What We Know So Far About Disneyland Reopening

We are all anxiously awaiting the news of when theme parks will re-open again.

According to California health officials, they issued a long-awaited guidance for reopening theme parks like Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood. For the big parks, it may be a while since their counties must reach the least-restrictive yellow tier of the state's four-tier COVID-19 economic reopening plan.

As of right now, Orange County where Disneyland is located is currently in the second tier and as for LA County, where Universal Studios is located, it's in the most restrictive purple tier. Dr. Mark Ghaly, California's Health and Human Services Agency secretary issued the guidelines in a vide conference on Tuesday. He said "There’s lots of work we can do together — both state, local, business leaders, community leaders, individuals — to do what we can to make sure that we reduce transmission throughout our county and there is a path forward there. We do not know when, but we do know how, and I think we’ll continue to put in the hard work to get us there one county at a time.”

When the time comes for park to reopen, they will need a reservation system allowing guests to book visits in advance. They also will need to screen guests for symptoms, mandate masks everywhere inside the park besides when visitors are eating and drinking. Park capacity will be limited to 25%, as for smaller parks in California, they will be allowed to open when they reach the third tier.
