Hot Monday: With more heat today a statewide flex alert has been issued today. IE, this means we are encouraged to set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, if your health permits, avoid using major appliances, like dish washers and clothes washers and dryers, turn off all unnecessary lights from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. while the Flex Alert is in effect.

Heartwarming: A Riverside family, who lost their 20 year old daughter back in November, had the opportunity to hear her heart in beating in the chest of a 13 year old boy in Las Vegas last week. Athena Zepeda, passed suddenly when she took what she thought was a muscle relaxer that turned out to be laced with Fentanyl. Athena’s family shared the emotional meeting with KTLA and felt blessed to know a piece of Athena would live on in the boy and many others, with the family donating her organs to people around the world and even her skin will be used to help thousands of burn victims.

Food Vendor Relief: IE Street Food Vendors could be getting up to $7000 in grant money to help their businesses. The money comes from the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice nonprofit organization which received $600K and will be treated like a scholarship. The new program encourages entrepreneurs to apply for the grant money and put it towards business permits, equipment and more!
