How To Take A Selfie With The Solar Eclipse The Correct Way (WATCH)

WATCH: You already know this is going to happen. People are going to take selfies with the solar eclipse. It's the new generation of cell phones now. So offer some good advice to them so they can take a good photo, and they will be safe. But first, here is a video of 11 approved brands of solar eclipse glasses to make sure you aren't getting ripped off, or have fake glasses that will damage your eyes! Check out the tips below the video:

  1. Lower your expectations: It will look very small in your selfie, so just know that. You should focus on getting a wide angle with the sky and the selfie
  2. KEEP YOUR GLASSES ON! For safety, and you don't want the sun to creep back in from it being a total eclipse. That can really damage your eyes!
  3. Limit the photos: You should only take selfies during the brief totality period. It's easier to take photos and it's safer on your eyes.
  4. Be Quick: You still want to enjoy it! And it will only last up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Take a quick photo and enjoy the rest of it!
  5. Consider downloading a better phone app, like ProCamera: These have more settings to get the right picture!
  6. DON'T ZOOM: Experts recommend using the wide angle view for safety.
