A Dog-Friendly Movie Theater Opened & Has Snacks For Pups & Humans!

2018 has been quite the year. Heading into the new year, we could all use some feel good news and we found something amazing to share with you. It's a dog-friendly movie theater!

This month, K9 Cinemas has officially opened its doors in Plano, TX. The theater welcomes up to 25 people along with two dogs per human guest!

Eric Lankford came up with this brilliant idea when he moved to Texas with his Australian Eskimo pup named Bear. His idea started much smaller with a patio, 50 padded metal chairs, a projection screen, and a concession stand with food and drinks for people and their furry friends.

As of now, the new and improved K9 Cinemas is only open on the weekends. They're screening holiday classics like Elf and Home Alone. The ticket prices are so affordable too! They cost $5 for dogs, $9 for kids, and $12.50 for adults.

Keep in mind that responsibility comes with this great experience. There are a few rules that were created to keep both dogs and owners happy: owners are responsible for cleaning up after their furry friends (aka bathroom breaks) and making sure the pets are up to date on vaccinations.

We can only help this genius idea will grow and more locations will open! If you are lucky enough to go and experience this, please take pictures and share them with us!
