Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Will Have Their Opening Ceremony Live Streamed!

WATCH: Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is coming to Disneyland in 9 days! But some lucky people got to see it early, including two of our favorite listeners of KOST! Bob Sandoval and Sandy Tyma were able to get a first hand glimpse at the new section of the park, and the reviews were glowing!

Bob wrote: "Disney's new Galaxy Edge is AWESOME! The 14 acre site was designed to make you feel that you have stepped into a Star War movie - the planet Batuu. That was the plan and they succeeded completely. Once inside, you have no idea you are in the middle of Disneyland. Heck, you don't even know you are on Earth! Besides the buildings and the background and the numerous Star Wars apparatus, the costumed employees add to the atmosphere. They are decked out as members of the Resistance or Smugglers or Empire individuals and are all in character. They apparently hired all the local Star Wars nerds and they obviously relish their play acting.

We weren't allowed to take photos. In fact, all cameras and cellphones had to be placed in sealed bags. They did provide lots of photographers to take our pictures (with great settings), but they won't release them until the actual hard opening at the end of the month. They should be great!

There is a lot of concern about the coming crowds. The place

Is designed to accommodate 15,000 guests at capacity. The plan is to only allow 10,000 when they initially open. They want to work out any problems. The Park has already made several changes to deal with expected numbers. We were fortunate in that the employee previews are limited to only 5,000 for each four hour segment. There was plenty of room and the lines were reasonable. I am hoping that the same will be said when it will be opened to the public. Sandy and I have reservations for late June, so we will see.

We really enjoyed Oga Cantina. There are things happening all the time! Sandy tried a couple of bar drinks and I had a soft drink. It was only serving snacks, but they were tasty. A full food menu will be available soon. Carefully read the menu as some of the drinks are pricey and the lights are dimmed.

We had lunch at Docking Bay7. The prices were reasonable and my rib selection was tasty. I would stay away from the chicken - the portion was minuscule and not worth the price. The drinks and dessert were excellent. There are lots of snack eateries with sitting throughout the area.

Only one of the two rides is currently operational, The Millenium Falcon. It was a kick! Sandy was the pilot and I was a gunner. We would have made Han Solo proud. The second ride, Rise of the Resistance, is suppose to be an epic ride, but is still being worked on. I would suggest that the whole area is a third ride with you being surrounded by interactive activity.

Being part of a Disney enterprise, there are lots of things to buy and some are somewhat pricey. However, most are really cool and will be wanted by Star Wars fans.

And if you aren't able to get in for it's opening, Disney has got you covered. They are going to do a live coverage of the Opening Ceremony on the Disney Park Blog! Join in on May 29th at 8:20pm Pacific time:
