In many places, it is now mandatory to wear a face mask whenever you leave your home to prevent coronavirus infection.
But parents, take note of this important news: pediatricians warn never to put a mask on a baby!
The CDC said infants have such small airways that a mask could do more harm than good. And doctors said masks on children younger than 2 years old could suffocate them.
Instead, keep the baby out of public settings and have family members wear a mask around the baby. If you have to go out, you can place a blanket loosely over the car seat or carrier but never over the baby.
And as always, keep washing those hands!
