How To Cut A Watermelon In Just One Minute

Summer wouldn't even be summer without some watermelon! This sweet and juicy fruit is a sign of upcoming beach days and backyard BBQs.

Watermelon's only downside is that it can be very difficult to cut and take forever. Where do you even start?!

These four easy steps will help you cut a watermelon in one minute flat.

  1. Cut off the ends: Lay the watermelon on a cutting board and trim both ends with a sharp knife.
  2. Slice it in half: Stand the watermelon up and slice down the middle creating two large halves.
  3. Quarter: Lay each large down, flesh side, and cut in half again. Then you'll have a total of four long pieces.
  4. Make triangles: Turn each quartered piece horizontal and slice into 1" strips to create triangles.

An extra tip: to enhance the fruit's sweetness, salt the watermelon!
