What Your Sleep Position Can Tell You About Your Personality

We've all heard the saying "you are what you eat” but did you know “you are how you sleep?”

It turns out the position we sleep in says a lot about our personalities and even offers important insights into how we feel in the hours we’re awake!

Here are some of the most popular sleep positions and what they mean:

Side Sleepers: are easy going. Sleep expert Dr. Chris Idzikowski says the position of your arms when you sleep like this reveals your personalities. For example, if you sleep with your arms by your side you’re likely to be easy-going and trusting. If you extend your arms, your most likely open-minded.

Body language expert Adrianne Carter explains if you’re a side sleeper that faces away from the person you sleep with, this means you “want to keep your independence and are worried about getting too close.”

Stomach Sleepers: are outgoing. Dr. Idzikowski also calls this the “free fall” position and says if you sleep like this you are likely to be brash and outgoing. Tummy sleepers are also prone to anxiety during the day so you might want to take some extra time to wind down before going to bed.

Back Sleepers: have high expectations. If you sleep on your back with your arms by your side, you probably have high expectations for yourself and others. It's also the position where you're most likely to snore.

Do you find this insight true to your sleeping position?
