Love is love regardless of age or time spent together / apart. A couple aged 91 and 89 have finally tied the knot after 60 years of being together.
The Hamilton's: Jane and Alex first met back in 1956, but at the time they both had other partners. They were apart for six years before deciding to start a life together.
They have been inseparable since, starting a family and having five grown kids- and recently decide to make it official.
They officiated the marriage at their local parish, joined by their two daughters and sons, as well as their 11 grandchildren.
The couple was happy and claimed it was a "perfect wedding" and are looking forward to the honeymoon next month.
Mrs Hamilton commented.
"I'm feeling very good. We had a fantastic weekend, a fantastic wedding. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it was just perfect.
"All our children and grandchildren came, with my eldest granddaughter as my maid of honour and Alex's son as his best man."
The couple had always planned on having a ceremony but then life got in the way as well as the family cheese business.
Mrs Hamilton said: "We never got engaged. But then, just a few weeks ago, Alex was sat on the end of the bed and he said, I think we should get married, and that was it.
"We have a brilliant relationship. We've had our ups and downs as most people do but there has never been any doubts in either of our minds." 'Make the most of life'
For new husband Alex, the wedding was the culmination of "a wonderful 60 years".
He said: "When I first met Jane, I looked at her and thought, this is the woman I've been looking for all my life.
"We have once or twice talked about getting married, but we were so busy with work and it was very consuming.
"The wedding itself was unbelievable. We have a marvellous family who all seem to get on well together.
"The future is now about living as long as we can, make the most of what's left of our lives and live every day as it comes."
Jane knew that they were going to spend the rest of their lives together regardless if she had a ring or not.
"When I first met Alex, I saw his cheeky smile and I was done for," she said.
"But he was married and I was about to get married six weeks later so we just thought this isn't going to happen.
"But in the end we just couldn't keep away from each other and in 1962 we finally got together."
The newly weds will be celebrating their honey moon in the same place that they took their first trip back in the 1960's
Mrs Hamilton said: "We are going back for three nights in June and that will be lovely. "
