kitten needed some rescuing and Firefighters from the Fort Smith Fire department in Arkansas came in to help. The kitten was stuck inside an ATM, not the typical place a cat would be stuck, no one could figure out how the kitten made its way into the ATM.

The tech at the local shelter had some ideas on how the curious kitten made its way into a sticky situation.

"Probably trying to find shade is why, but I can't tell you how," Bloom said.
Hearing a kitten meowing is not something people are used to hearing when using the ATM. Patrons were also still able to use the machine while the kitten was still inside.
"This is actually my first experience with a cat getting stuck in an ATM," said Ashley Deane, a vet tech at Fort Smith Animal Haven. "You know, I never thought that somebody would be able to go up and make a withdrawal and get a cat out instead of some cash, so now we have both."

The kitten was then taken tp a local shelter where they treated them for dehydration.

The gray tabby needed a name, they came up with the perfect name for the cat burglar.. Cash.

When cash arrived to the shelter he was a little under a pound and all he needed was a little TLC.

"He's a little spicy just 'cause he's scared, which is typical and it's gonna happen," Deane said.

After getting some much needed treatment, cash was already getting used to his new environment.

"Generally, after a couple of days with our handlers caring for them, they become less spicy and just a little bit mild so they can come a little bit more workable," Deane said.
"Once you pick him up, he's just a big purr box, that's all, he's just a huge purr box, he's the sweetest little baby," Bloom said.

Cash is not quite ready to be adopted, the shelter wants to make sure they monitor him to see how he interacts with the other animals.
