Mother nature creates some of the best views, that is exactly what happened China recently.
We are talking about a very rare type of rainbow cloud that filled the sky and left the locals.
It was captured in Haikou, Hainan on Aug. 21st leaving people in awe at the sight that was in front of them.
It looks like a painting or some would describe it looking like the end of the world.
Bill Nye the science guy would be perfect to explain this rainbow cloud. Scientists call it a scarf cloud or pileus
A pileus cloud is formed through a thunderstorm's updraft, creating a smooth cloud that sits atop a growing cumulus or cumulonimbus cloud. When sun rays hit the millions of tiny ice crystals or water droplets within the cloud, light is diffracted and produces the vivid colors of the rainbow as shown in the videos and images you see above.
If you ever get a chance to see this be sure to snap a pic, because these clouds don't tend to stick around for long. These types of clouds like all clouds are usually an indicator for bad weather.
Good thing someone was there to capture the moment, now we all can enjoy this rare but beautiful sight.
