Global Beatles Day pays tribute to The Beatles and the impact they had on music history and pop culture. Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison were known as the Fab Four and went through a few name changes before settling on The Beatles in 1960.
The band went on to have a bunch of smash hits including "All You Need Is Love" which they performed on a BBC show called 'Our World' to 400 million people through a multinational satellite production broadcast. It reached 26 different countries on five continents simultaneously. John Lennon wrote the song and kept the message simple so that everyone could relate to it including those who didn't speak very much English.
This special moment in pop culture history took place on June 25, 1967 and is the reason why Global Beatles Day is celebrated on June 25 every year.
It is a day to celebrate not only their music but also their message of peace and love.
