New Wicked Starbucks Drinks and Best Pumpkin Lattes in LA

Starbucks has once again introduced new drinks to appease to their musical fans.

The popular coffee chain has unveiled two new iced drinks in honor of the movie Wicked opening in theaters this November.

Here's to Glinda's Pink Potion and Elphaba's Green Elixir.

Food blogger Markie Devo shared a pic of the two new offerings and here's what he and many others had to say about Starbucks' new drink addition:

"But where’s the Toto’s Barkamani Frappupawscino (wrong movie🐶) Starbucks is speculated to have teamed up with the new Wicked movie for two drinks crafted after characters from the movie," read the post's caption.
Markie Devo described both beverages, explaining that Glinda's Pink Potion is a "Mango Dragonfruit Refresher hand-shaken with creamy coconut milk, ice and a scoop of real dragonfruit" and "topped with silky-smooth nondairy Strawberry Cream Cold Foam and colorful candy sprinkles."
Meanwhile, Elphaba's Green Elixir is a "Starbucks Cold Brew sweetened with Peppermint Syrup, topped with silky-smooth Nondairy Matcha Cream Cold Foam and colorful candy sprinkles."
"Def gotta try that pink potion!😻😋" wrote one person, with another commenter saying they were "interested in the green one lol."
"OMGGGG YAYYY," raved someone else. A fourth Instagram user called the new items "so slay."

However, some pointed out that these drinks already exist, just without the added candy sprinkles.

"Same drinks just a fancy word for the same ingredients. oh Starbucks. Bring out the engineers to help make new drinks. 🙃🙂‍↔️🙂‍↕️" wrote one unimpressed person.
"You can order these right now if you put the ingredients listed in the caption, they just don’t have the sprinkles yet and either way it’ll be expensive as hell lmao," pointed out a budget-conscious commenter.

On Reddit, Starbucks fans in a thread about Elphaba's Green Elixir were not pleased with the new drinks.

"I love a peppermint matcha but peppermint cold brew with nd matcha cf? Uhhhhh," posted one Redditor.
"They fr throwing darts at a board," complained another person, with another doubtful commenter writing, "I was about to ask… do those flavors go together? 🤢"

If you these drinks are not within your taste buds, you may be interested in trying some of the best pumpkin spice-flavored lattes in LA.

Starbucks may have started the trend of pumpkin spice lattes, but there are a few smaller, locally-owned cafes in the Los Angeles area that are also brewing up their own wicked cups.

The Los Angeles Times has released a list of the best pumpkin spice lattes in the city and here are a few in the local LA area:

Be Bright in the Fairfax District

“Be Bright’s pumpkin pie latte can be served with the cafe’s signature “cold foam,” a creamy whipped topping, and gets topped with crushed graham cracker, while a cold-brew option gets topped with a cold foam that also uses the pumpkin syrup,” the L.A. Times writes.

Goodboybob in Santa Monica

In an “up yours” to the popular pumpkin latte, they’re swapping the gourd for sweet potatoes, then adding condensed milk to the puree along with a fall-spice blend.

Coffee for Sasquatch in Hancock Park

“[This] classic-leaning pumpkin spice latte combines pumpkin pie seasoning with pureed organic pumpkin straight in the cup with espresso and milk, and it’s sweetened with maple and dusted with spice for extra flourish.“

Dayglow in Silver Lake

“It’s a little like an Einspänner, topped with pumpkin cream.”

Muddy Paw Coffee in Eagle Rock

“Muddy Paw’s PSL is available hot or iced, and in both, freshly ground spices like cardamom and cinnamon — similar to a classic pumpkin pie spice blend — make their way into organic pumpkin puree, which is sweetened by brown sugar and a hint of agave.
