If you have a pet it might be a good idea to check and reregister their microchip. This comes after animal shelters, rescues, and veterinarian clinics learn a significant microchip company is shut down. Executive Director of Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh Dan Cody says microchips are crucial for reuniting pets with their families if they get lost. The ceased services from Save This Life is affecting many nationwide. Cody says the closure of the company is really concerning and urges owners to make sure their pet has an active microchip. The company did not response to the organization.

Local veterinarian offices, police stations, or animal shelters can check your pet's microchip to see if it's registered with Save This Life. If it is, you will need to register with a different company. A microchip can save your pet's life and help you find your furry friend!
