When a winter storm rolled into Southern California’s Big Bear Valley, it didn’t stand a chance against Jackie, the dedicated bald eagle mom. For almost 46 hours, she bravely protected her precious eggs, battling freezing temperatures and snow. Talk about mom goals!
The storm, which hit on February 12, kept Jackie huddled in the nest all the way through Valentine’s Day. But even the toughest weather couldn’t shake her focus. Then, just as the storm started to clear on February 14, Jackie’s partner, Shadow, swooped in with a fish in tow. A much-needed meal was served, and Jackie didn’t waste a second. She gobbled it down and stretched her wings before settling into a nearby tree to rest—because even supermoms need a break!
Big shoutout to Jackie for showing us all what true dedication (and eagle-sized heart) look like! 🦅
