We're back with an update of the beloved Big Bear bald eagles! One of the chicks just flew from the nest Monday morning! Sunny is about three months old which is considered prime time for take off. However, Gizmo is a few days younger. It typically takes 10 to 14 weeks for eaglets to start flying so they're on the right track. Friends of Big Bear Valley is non-profit who runs the live camera feed of the eaglets nest. The organization says both Sunny and Gizmo were attempting to fly Saturday before Sunny officially left the nest yesterday. Their parents gained attention earlier this year and social media has been following the eagle family since.
