A young baker is raising money for animal organizations in Texas who were affected by the floods. Kamryn Balfour, 11, was at summer camp less than 20 miles from Camp Mystic when the floods destroyed land and took lives. She says she got really lucky and that it could've been her. As she was on her way home, Kamryn came up with the idea to bake and sell cookies to raise money for flood relief efforts. She set a $500 goal but about 40 batches of cookies later, she has raised more than $4,300. Kamryn wanted to support pets that were impacted by the flood and wanted to make sure they were rescued and cared for. She chose charities like Kerrville Pets Alive and Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Team. She's taking "Kamryn's Kravings" around the community and doing local pop-up bake sales. The young girl plans to continue her business and fundraising.
