Two girls made district history as the first two female players apart of the varsity football team roster. Junior Olivia Richardson and senior Miley Philips joined the team at Antelope High School in Roseville. Richardson joined last year when her brother convinced her to give it a shot. She says everyone is so nice and that they feel like family. Phillips joined the team this season after being inspired by Richardson. Both girls have soccer backgrounds which they say help on the football field. Varsity head coach Juwan Hurd says the girls are great and do everything they're supposed to like conditioning and hitting drills. He believes this could inspire more people to do something they think they can't.
