A 6th grader volunteers at the Hudson Cafe in downtown Detroit and is leaving every customer with a smile. James Murphy's mother leads the bar as her son helps the team fill waters before serving them to tables. The 11-year-old volunteers his own time and has been coming to the restaurant ever since he was little. His mother says this experience teaches her son about one's work ethic. Although he can't receive money, he gives and receives many smiles. James also gives handmade thank you cards that he delivers personally to guests. He says his work is about helping people and having fun.
