A mother and son were on a recent tubing trip in Canada when they heard a high-pitched squeaking. Liz Belanger was in front of her son, Connor who was far enough to spot where the noise was coming from. The 16-year-old reached out as a tiny animal crawled in his palm. To his surprise, he saved a baby beaver! It started to fall asleep in Connor's arms and cuddled next to him for the next hour. When the two finally got to shore, they marked where they found the beaver and reached out for help. In the mean time, they named him Chip. The duo drove an hour and a half to the North Island Wildlife Rescue Association. The animal care technician says the baby beaver wouldn't have survived without it's mother so it's a good thing they brought the little animal in. Chip, now renamed Little Timbre, is set to be released back in the wild in about 18 months.
