After taking a week off, Jimmy Fallon returned to The Tonight Show last night and shared an emotional tribute to his mother Gloria Fallon, who passed on November 4th.
"She was the best audience." Fallon recalled of his mom, "She was the one I was always trying to make laugh." While choking back tears, Jimmy shared a story of how his mom, "She would squeeze my hand three times to say 'I love you' and I would squeeze 'I love you too.' Last week, I was in the hospital and I grabbed her hand and I squeezed 'I love you' and I just knew we were in trouble, you know?"
Taylor Swift was the musical guest that night and performed “New Year’s Day” at the piano, the studio audience felt chills as she sang the line: “Squeeze your hand three times in the back of the taxi.”
She sang "New Year's Day." No one had heard it. Suddenly she sings the line, "Squeeze my hand 3 times in the back of the taxi." I nearly gasped. Tears. I think everyone in the audience started sobbing.— Mike DiCenzo (@mikedicenzo) November 14, 2017
