Steven Spielberg Says It’s Time For A Woman To Play Indiana Jones

With the #TimesUp movement still fresh on people’s minds, director Steven Spielberg is advocating for a female to play the lead role in the classic Indiana Jones series.

The Oscar winning director spoke with The Sun, who said that Harrison Ford would likely retire as Indiana Jones and a new look will be created for the adventurous character.  When asked if the change could signal a female as the lead Spielberg said, “We’d have to change the name from Jones to Joan. And there would be nothing wrong with that.”

Indiana Jones 5 will hit movie screens in July 2020, until then we can all ponder over which leading lady should be cast as “Indiana Joan.”

Which leading lady do you think should be cast as “Indiana Joan”? Do you think the Indiana Jones franchise should continue after Harrison Ford’s retirement?
