The NFL just approved a new policy.
It mandates that players who are on the field MUST stand for the national anthem, but if they choose to remain in the locker room, they can.
Teams now can be fined by the league if players sit or kneel like they may have done in protest of racial injustice in recent NFL seasons.
The fining or punishment of players would be decided by the individual team.
The NFL commissioner noted "on-field protests created a false perception among many of the NFL players were unpatriotic.
So this season, the league and personnel shall stand and show respect for the flag and the Anthem.
