The ratings bonanza that was Roseanne on ABC is simply too much for the network to walk away from.
With that in mind, the network is moving closer to a spinoff for the show that will NOT include the controversial comedian. The Hollywood Reporter says that Barr has agreed that a spinoff, should it happen, can continue forward as long as the series retains her appropriate credit and grants her “substantial fees and backend on any spinoff.”
The spinoff would reportedly focus on SaraGilbert's character, Darlene and her life with the Conner family. John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf have reportedly given their tentative blessing to working on the show.
Does Roseanne work without Roseanne Barr. Will conservatives turn their back on the show as a form of protest?
