President Donald Trump has the ultimate bully pulpit. He's used it in recent days to go after late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon after the latter expressed regret over "humanizing" Trump during a visit to the show when he was running to President.
On Monday night, Fallon used his own platform to answer Trump. “As you may have heard, last night, the president of the United States went after me on Twitter,” Fallon began. “So Melania, if you’re watching, I don’t think your anti-bullying campaign is working.”
Fallon used his monologue to say why he didn't respond via Twitter saying: “I have more important things to do.” He then took another shot at the President by saying: “Then I thought, ’Wait, shouldn’t he have more important things to do?'
Fallon also dismissed a claim by Trump that the late-night host called the then-candidate by saying he didn't even have Trump's number.
Will this end the back-and-forth between the two or will Trump now respond to what Fallon has said?
.@jimmyfallon is now whimpering to all that he did the famous “hair show” with me (where he seriously messed up my hair), & that he would have now done it differently because it is said to have “humanized” me-he is taking heat. He called & said “monster ratings.” Be a man Jimmy!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 25, 2018
In honor of the President’s tweet I’ll be making a donation to RAICES in his name.— jimmy fallon (@jimmyfallon) June 25, 2018
