When it comes to buying concert tickets, one of the most annoying thing ever are all of those service charges and tickets fees!
Does anyone even know what all these fees are even for?
Well CBC News and the Toronto Star decided to take matters into their own hands with a brand new investigation!
In their investigation they found out that Ticketmaster was apparently hiring professional ticket scalpers to get more money from their customers!
The report found that basically these scalpers will buy up batches of tickets and then resell the tickets for higher prices on their premium ticket selling site, TradeDesk.
You may be wondering so how exactly does this benefit Ticketmaster?
Well Ticketmaster would get extra fees on top of the ones charged during the original ticket sale.
CBC and Toronto Star journalists went undercover and were told that there were brokers with ‘hundreds of accounts’ on TradeDesk!
Isn't that insane?!
Even though Ticketmaster has a ‘buyer abuse’ division that monitors suspicious online purchasing, they are able to get away with this because Ticketmaster doesn’t “look or report” sells on TradeDesk.
Ticketmaster responded to this investigation by saying that the reports are "categorically untrue."
What do you think about this?
