When it comes to holidays, we don't usually count calories...
Especially when it comes to Halloween candy!!!
According to Marcy Aaronovitch, a school dietitian in Brooklyn, we don't think of the affects candy can do not only to out body but also out teeth. She ranked some of the most popular Halloween candies from the worst to the best.
"really calorically dense." 80 calories and 9 grams of sugar. Plus the nougat gets stuck in your teeth.
"It's all sugar and additives and it gets in your teeth." 100-calorie packs have 19 grams of sugar!
3. Candy Corn
High sugar to satiety ratio. They usually come in multi-serving packages so you tend to over-indulge.
4: Salt Water Taffy
They're full of sugar and salt!
Dark chocolate ones are better then milk chocolate. Since they're small you tend to eat more.
Fat-free and they're slow eating. Just 80 calories per two strands and 10 grams of sugar.
7. Mini Reese's Cups
They're not perfect but they have some protein and fat to keep you satisfied longer.
8. Dum Dums
Each one has 20 calories and four grams of sugar. Just don't bite them! "The longer it takes to eat the better...It's mindful eating."
9. Sour Patch Kids
"if a candy is a sweet and sour, you end up eating less, but feeling very satisfied because of instant gratification in your mouth and in your brain."
10. Dark Chocolate
small amounts are "actually pretty good for you."
