Apple Users Report iOS 12 Is Sending iMessages To The Wrong Contacts

Apparently a new and previously unannounced iOS 12 feature is causing some Apple users major confusion.

This feature was created with the intention to merge chats you have with iOS device users who have more than one phone number or email. To better understand this, an example is if you have multiple chat threads with someone from work based on their work email but personal number.

It sounds like this would organize and clean up your messages but it seems to be having a major glitch!

Forbes points out that this feature was not included on the official iOS 12 features list.

iOS 12 users are also contacting Apple's Support Communities forum to share their frustrations that the newest version of the operating system is merging contacts that don't go together and belong to separate individuals. For example, a message intended for just one person are being sent to multiple people or just the wrong person overall.

This could end up causing drama and disasters for those who are possibly gossiping or sharing information in confidence. It is obvious why everyone is so upset about this issue. It seems that those who are being are sharing their Apple IDs.

There doesn't seem to be a way to manually un-merge these contacts either. It is unknown what percent of users have been dealing with this issue.

Until we hear from Apple, I hope myself along with you all don't have to worry about this!
