Shrek fans, brace yourselves--there's a Shrek reboot in the works!
The film originally created by DreamWorks, will be rebooted by the same creative minds who made Despicable Me, Illumination Entertainment!
How's this all possible? Back in 2016, Comcast bought DreamWorks and their parent company, Universal co-owns Illumination Entertainment.
Creating a story that's nostalgic to the original but giving it a fresh take is challenging. They want it to hit home with Shrek fans but don't want it to be a 'sequel.'
They do however, want to keep the original voices of the characters the same since they're become so iconic.
Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Antonio Banderas voices make the films and they hope to reunite the cast for the reboot!
Are you excited to see what they come up with for these reboots?!
