What could the Girl Scouts be suing the Boy Scouts over?!
Well, the Girl Scouts of America are suing the Boy Scouts of America for trademark infringement after they changed their name to "Scouts" for inclusion of girls. They're seeking for monetary damages and breach of trademark.
The Girl Scouts argue, by dropping the "boy" and rebranding their name, they're confusing the public and damage the GSUSA brand and trademark. They GSUSA have seen declines in sign ups since the change and have seen people sign up to the girls program in the Boy Scouts accidentally hurting their program.
They also argue, having girls in both programs, would make no point for the GSUSA exist.
What do you think about this? Does the Girl Scouts of America have a justifiable argument?
