New Los Angeles Earthquake App Prepares Residents For Earthquakes!

This will come in handy for all of you Los Angeles residents!

According to this new mobile app, it will allow residents to feel a vibration on their phones, hear a tone alert them about an earthquake to help alert Southern Californians to take shelter in case one happens again.

ShakeAlertLA was published in secret on New Year's Eve and the word got out quick.

It will send you information when a 5.0 or greater earthquake happens in LA, before you feel the shaking.

The mayor's office states that the app is supposed to send an alert to residents in a time frame of 5 to 10 seconds when shaking should happen in their area.

The company plans on testing the app on a rolling basis and not to try to test the greater L.A. area at once.

There also has been a warning to residents not to expect perfection the first time around, as it is a work in progress.

What do you think of this idea?!
