Dogs Are Now Being Tested For Sniffing Our COVID-19 Cases

Now, specially trained medical detection dogs could help in in the crisis of the lack of testing that many countries are now facing during COVID-19.

These dogs are capable of sniff testing 750 people an hour, according to a non-profit that trains these dogs. This idea is being explored by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

In order for a dog to be properly trained, it involves the dogs being given COVID-19 patients face masks to sniff and discover the unique odor that can only be identified by a dog's enhanced sense of smell.

As of right now, it will take several weeks before we know if dogs will be able to detect the virus, if this works, this could be extremely helpful.
