The Hawaii Tourism Authority is now actually paying their visitors to leave. They set aside $25,000 for the cost of sending tourists away if they refuse the states required 14-day quarantine.
Yes, we all know it's hard to stay inside, especially when it's beautiful out, I couldn't imagine being stuck inside while vacationing in Hawaii, but it needs to be done.
According to a press release, the state announced outbound travel arrangements are being handled by the Visitor Aloha Society, which is a non-profit that helps tourists with any problems during their visit.
If you didn't already know, David Ige who is the governor of Hawaii announced back on April 1st that a mandatory two-week self-quarantine was necessary for any out-of-state visitors and inter-island travelers.
