If you're like me, you probably stocked up on groceries after going to the store to avoid going frequently.
Here's a few tips I found on how to stock your fridge properly so that the food doesn't go bad! First off, it's recommended that you let your food be stored between 35 to 40 degrees. That will always keep your food safe.
Then, you should be buying foods that will last such as eggs, apples, onions, hard cheeses, cream cheese and bacon. Those are just some of the few that have a long shelf life to be stored.
Some fruits and veggies have ethylene, which is a gas that speeds up the ripening. Apples, tomatoes, potatoes, melons should all be stored separately.
Avocados should for sure be left out at room temp! Items like cilantro and green onions can be stored in a glass jar of water with a plastic bag over them.
Hopefully some of these tips help!
Looks like I will need to re-organize my fridge today!
