United Airlines listened to their customers and have agreed to drop the unpopular fee of $200.00 for those who change a ticket for travel within the United States.
They stated "When we hear from customers about where we can improve, getting rid of fees is often the top request.” This move will put pressure on American Airlines and Delta Airlines to drop their change fees, along with the $200 on domestic travel. Delta and American said that they are waiving change fees for travel affected by the pandemic through the end of the year. Southwest doesn't charge their change fees.
United also stated that they will extend a waiver of change fees, including for international travel through December 31st.
