United Becomes First US Airline To Offer Passengers Coronavirus Tests!

United Airlines just announced that they will become the first US carrier to offer a rapid-response coronavirus testing program.

If passengers are flying from San Francisco to Hawaii, they will have an option to order home kits or be tested at the airport. For those who test negative, they will not be subjected to the state's 14-day quarantine requirement according to United Airlines. This is expected to begin on October 15th.

The option will be to choose between taking a test from Abbott Labs at the airport on the day of the flight and results will be given in 15 minutes or you will be able to use an $80 mail-in test prior to travel.

According to chief customer officer at United, Toby Enqvist, he stated “Our new COVID testing program is another way we are helping customers meet their destinations’ entry requirements, safely and conveniently.”
