If you haven't gotten your tax refund, you might be delayed this year.
The IRS has fallen behind schedule due to the backlog of returns that require manual processing, which includes millions of returns left over from 2019 due that they still haven't gotten to due to the pandemic delays. According to one official, they admitted that taxpayers will continue to experience unusually long delays, they know that no one wants to hear this, but that is the case.
This year's deadline was delayed from April to May 17th.
