If you've noticed that the Post Office is too slow, it's about to get worse.
Starting on October 1st, the USPS will slow down delivery of first in class mail, expanding the timeframe from 1-3 days to 1-5 days. The reason for the delay is due to a shift from air delivery to ground delivery which is slower but more reliable.
A majority of the first-class mail will still be delivered within 3 days, but some states will start seeing longer delays including most western states, along with Florida and Southern Texas.
