Mike Richards is stepping down as Jeopardy host one week after getting the job.
Just a week ago he was announced the new permanent host of Jeopardy! Comments made by Richards resurfaced which he made on a podcast back in 2013 and 2014.
In a statement, Richards who is also the show's executive producer said if he stayed, it would be too much of a distraction for the fans and not the right move for the show. Mayim Bialik will remain the host of the show's prime time specials.
For the time being, the show will go back into a rotation of guest hosts for the time being.
