Disneyland visitors will no longer need to wear COVID-19 face coverings on Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion, but that doesn’t mean they can leave their masks at home just yet.
Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will no longer require vaccinated visitors to wear masks indoors starting on Thursday, Feb. 17. Unvaccinated visitors will still be required to wear masks indoors at the Anaheim theme parks.
California will lift a statewide COVID-19 health and safety mandate requiring masks indoors after Tuesday, Feb. 15 as coronavirus cases related to the omicron variant continue to decline.
Vaccinated Disneyland visitors will still need to bring their masks to the parks.
All Disneyland visitors — regardless of vaccination status — will be required to wear masks while traveling on enclosed transportation. That includes the shuttle buses traveling between the Toy Story parking lot and the theme park front entrances. The Disneyland Monorail is currently closed for refurbishment through March 6 — with no word yet if the enclosed transportation system will require masks when it returns.
Masks will not be required on the Mickey and Friends and Pixar Pals parking trams returning on Feb. 23 or the Disneyland Railroad.
Disneyland and DCA first aid stations will also require visitors to wear masks.
Theme park mask rules will vary depending on whether you are in Orange County (home to Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Knott’s Berry Farm), Los Angeles County (Universal Studios Hollywood and Six Flags Magic Mountain), or San Diego County (SeaWorld San Diego and Legoland California).
For now, Six Flags Magic Mountain will continue to require face masks indoors for all visitors and employees regardless of vaccination status.
Nothing changes at Universal Studios Hollywood either with the L.A. County indoor mask mandate remaining in place.
