Harry Styles 101
Texas State University in San Marcos has announced they will be offering a class about Harry Styles starting in the spring of 2023.
“Harry Styles and the Cult of Celebrity: Identity, the Internet and European Pop Culture,” will be taught by Dr. Louie Dean Valecia, an Associate Professor of Digital History.
The course will focus on Harry’s music as well as “the cultural and political development of the modern celebrity as related to questions of gender and sexuality, race, class, nation and globalism, media, fashion, fan culture, internet culture, and consumerism.”
Professor Louis Dean Valencia has expertise in digital history. He tweeted his excitement about the new class. (quote) “It's official, official. I'm teaching the world's first-ever university course on the work of #HarryStyles is happening Spring 2023.”
The professor’s proposal to the history department revealed that lectures and coursework will examine the music of Harry Styles as well as his movie roles.
