- More than 6,400 air fryers are being recalled following reports that say they overheat and sometimes burst into flames.
- Two different models of the Secura air fryer, which is sold on Amazon, are involved in the recall, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety
- Commission. The model numbers are SAF-53D, with the date code 1901, and SAF-53, with the date codes 1903 and 1904, the commission reports.
- Although there have been at least nine incidents in which one of the models burst into flames, no injuries have been reported, per the commission.
- If you own one of the recalled models, the Consumer Product Safety Commission advises to stop using it immediately and contact Secura at 888-792-2360. The company will give you a choice of a replacement air fryer or a $45 Amazon gift card, Secura officials say.
