Missing California Woman, 31, Found Dead in Arizona

The body of Hannah Moody, a 31-year-old social media influencer from California, was discovered near a hiking trail in Scottsdale, Arizona, on May 22. Moody was reported missing on May 21 after failing to return from a hike at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve's Gateway Trailhead. Her friends became concerned when she did not show up for a planned lunch.

Scottsdale police, along with the Phoenix Police Department and Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, conducted an extensive search using drones and helicopters. They found Moody's body about 600 yards off the trail, according to the Los Angeles Times. There were no immediate signs of foul play or trauma, but the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Moody's mother, Terri, expressed her grief and confusion, stating, "It's a mystery to us right now." She speculated that the extreme heat, which reached 102 degrees, might have contributed to her daughter's death, as reported by People.

Hannah Moody was an avid hiker who frequently shared her adventures with her 45,000 Instagram followers. Her family plans to honor her memory with a memorial hike on what would have been her 32nd birthday.
