Two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, have been charged with second-degree murder for the death of Davy Glen Pichel, a 66-year-old man found outside St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Oxnard, California. The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced the charges on Friday.

Pichel was discovered partially unclothed with severe injuries to his head and face by a church volunteer on Thursday morning. According to VC Star, surveillance footage revealed the teens attacking Pichel on the night of June 4. The footage showed the suspects beating and stomping Pichel, leaving and returning twice to continue the assault, and eventually taking some of his clothing.

The teens were arrested on the night of June 5 and are currently held at Ventura County's juvenile justice facility. They have not entered pleas, and their arraignment is scheduled for June 24. A motive for the attack has not been disclosed.

The case has shocked the local community, and the teens' actions have raised concerns about youth violence. The investigation is ongoing.
