In Fontana, California, an off-duty sheriff's deputy fatally shot a man suspected of killing two people outside a sushi restaurant on Saturday night. The victims, Gloria Zamora, 40, and Hector Garduno, 43, were shot in the parking lot on Summit Avenue. Zamora, a social media influencer and fitness coach, was in the process of getting a divorce from her estranged husband, Thomas Alberto Tamayo Lizarraga, who allegedly tracked her down before the shooting.
According to ABC7, the off-duty San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy was driving nearby when he heard gunshots. He made a U-turn, confronted Lizarraga, and shot him during the encounter. Lizarraga was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident has left both victims' families grieving. Zamora was a mother of seven, while Garduno was a devoted father of four girls. GoFundMe pages have been set up to support their families.
The Fontana Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. They have not released the name of the deputy involved. KTLA reported that the incident is still under investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
