This Saturday, Bean’s Beagles, an Orange County-based rescue organization, will host an adoption event in Huntington Beach, aiming to find forever homes for several rescued beagles.

The event will be held 10am-2pm at Pet Supply, 21425 Brookhurst Street in Huntington Beach.

Founded in 2017, Bean’s Beagles has cared for many dogs for months or even years. Dolores Ellis, president of Bean’s Beagles, emphasized the need for these dogs to find loving homes, stating, "Kennel life has been their thing because that's all we could offer them at this point, but they need a home and they need human interaction."

Among the dogs available for adoption are Dwayne, a four-year-old Beagle-bloodhound mix who loves walks but struggles with allergies, and Mocha, a two-year-old energetic tri-pawed beagle who has been with the organization the longest. Mocha lost her front left leg due to complications from a previous injury. Sole, a seven-year-old beagle with some neurological issues, is the newest addition to the rescue. The event will also feature a Chihuahua named Nacho, described as a "beagle in spirit."

Bean’s Beagles will hold adoption events over the next two Saturdays in Huntington Beach. The organization has faced low adoption rates this year, with only four dogs finding homes, a trend attributed to economic challenges families are experiencing. Despite this, Bean’s Beagles remains committed to rescuing dogs from shelters and relinquishing owners. The organization accepts donations for medical bills and gifts through its Amazon wishlist.

For more information, a complete list of available dogs can be found on Bean’s Beagles' website.
