John Wayne Airport in Orange County has introduced a dedicated TSA screening lane for families, making travel easier for those with children. The initiative, part of the TSA's "Families on the Fly" campaign, aims to reduce stress and streamline the security process for families traveling through the airport.
According to the Orange County Register, the family lane is located at Checkpoint B and does not require TSA PreCheck membership. TSA Federal Security Director Jason Pantages emphasized that Southern California is a top destination for vacationing families, making this initiative particularly beneficial.
The "Families on the Fly" campaign is being implemented at select airports, including Orlando International and Charlotte-Douglas International, with plans to expand to other locations like Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu. The TSA is also offering discounted PreCheck fees for families and dedicated lanes for service members and their families.
Additionally, John Wayne Airport has introduced a Mamava Lactation Pod in Terminal C to provide a private space for nursing mothers. This initiative, along with the family lane, aims to enhance the overall airport experience for families.
