In late August, a tragic accident on Rincon Beach in Ventura claimed the life of five-year-old Maxwell Haworth. While playing with his best friend, Maxwell climbed onto rocks at the water's edge, slipped, and a boulder fell on him. His father rushed to help, carrying Maxwell to the parking lot to seek assistance, but the young boy succumbed to his injuries later that day at a local hospital, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
Maxwell, described as joyful and energetic, had just started kindergarten and was his parents' only child. The accident has deeply affected the family, with Daniel Kessler, a close family member, expressing their heartbreak over not being able to see Maxwell grow up.
In the wake of this tragedy, family friend Bryan Holloway organized a GoFundMe campaign to support the family with funeral expenses and grief counseling. The campaign has received an overwhelming response, with nearly 670 donations from across the country, including cities like Chicago and Atlanta, raising over $67,000 toward an $80,000 goal. Holloway expressed gratitude for the support, stating, "The outpouring of support has been tremendous, and we feel so blessed."
