Alex Trebek Has Announced His Pancreatic Cancer Diagnosis

They say bad news comes in threes....so here it is. The long time "Jeapardy" host, Alex Trebek announced in a video message that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancretic cancer.

Stage 4 cancer means that it has spread to other parts of the body. While a cure is unlikely, it can be treated. In his video message released today, he told his fans "I'm going to fight this, and I'm going to keep working. And with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease."

Trebek has 3 years left in his "Jeapardy" contract, and has won five Daytime Emmys for his role as the legendary host and even a lifetime achievement award in 2011.
