Patrick Is Ready To Fill Your Home With Lots Of Love!

Meet Patrick! This handsome low-rider is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire terrier mix weighing 62 pounds. We don't know about you, but it was love at first sight for us when we saw this handsome boy full of muscles. Oh boy is he incredibly STRONG! He has a big personality to match also!

We do not know much about Patrick's past. When Patrick first came to us, he was very detached and shut down. It takes Patrick a little bit to connect, but once he does, he can be a sweet boy that just wants to be curled up by your side. Patrick has a great balance of enjoying playtime with his human as well as the ability to entertain himself with his kong outside or relaxing quietly in the house when his human is busy.

Patrick LOVES to play ball! One of his favorite games is to get you to throw the ball and then he tries to get you to play "Catch me if you can!" Let me tell you this boy can run like grease lightning! However, he does know how to bring the ball and drop it for you.

The home we seek for Patrick is one with previous bully/power breed experience and their training. We are seeking a confident and calm leader to help Patrick continue to grow and be a great ambassador for his breed. Patrick is an easy dog 90% of the time, with a small percentage whereby a more experienced handler is needed. Though Patrick has shown to be ok with the dogs in his video, they are both non-reactive, easy going dogs. If there is another dog in his adoptive home, the dog must be non-reactive, balanced, and well socialized with clear human pack leadership. Patrick corrects very well when he learns to respect his humans boundaries and leadership. We would love to see him in an active home where he can go out on hikes and walks as he loves exploring. If you have children, we ask that your children are at least 13 years old with good manners of how to respect/treat dogs.

Patrick is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. He is crate-trained and potty-trained (though potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment) and when it is time for me to crate him, he crates wonderfully. He is good with dogs with clear pack leadership and is not suitable for a home with cats.

Overall Patrick is very loving towards his humans, sometimes seeking attention and connection from them; other times, just being content to chill and watch the world go by. Patrick is still an inherently sweet homeless dog that deserves a chance at a solid home in spite of hard beginnings. With the proper leadership, he has loads of love and loyalty to give you in return!

If you are in the Los Angeles area and Patrick sounds like he may be a good match for you, please email Shireen shy@dogonfun.net for more information. In the email, please provide some information about your home, family, other pets, and dog experience, and if you wish, a phone number.
